MAC ANNOUNCES EID AL-ADHA 1445 Sunday June 16, 2024

Mississauga | June 06, 2024

The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) is pleased to announce that the first Day of Eid Al-Adha will be Sunday, June 16, 2024, the Day after Arafah. MAC adheres to the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) criteria in determining the date of Eidul Adha, which is contingent on the announcement by the Hajj authorities in Makkah of the day of ‘Arafah, in which case Eidul Adha will be the day following the day of ‘Arafah.

As we begin the best ten days of the year, we urge all Muslims to learn about and embody the virtues of this blessed season and increase in all righteous deeds, in accordance with the prophetic tradition:

ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيهن أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام العشر. (رواه البخاري)

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari).

MAC wishes the Muslim community across Canada and Muslims around the world a blessed month of Dhul-Hijjah, and a Eid Mubarak. Hajj is a most powerful symbol of the unity of our ummah and the obligation to overcome evil and injustice. As we engage in extra voluntary deeds of all kinds in these blessed days, we continue to remember our oppressed brothers and sisters everywhere in the world, and especially in Gaza and Sudan. Our hearts remain in pain for them, praying for the end of their oppression and for their ultimate liberation, and seeking every type of support we can offer them.

Let us make the most of these most blessed days of the year, where rewards are multiplied and sins are forgiven. May Allah accept all your deeds in these blessed days.
