Remembering Lost Lives

These 17 victims were living their daily life when a tragic incident happened; an incident which could have been prevented.
The Bronx Fire on Jan 9, 2022 is a lesson for all of us and a reminder on how abrupt tragedies can happen. To Him we belong and to Him we will return.
This incident however is rooted in a deeper problem related to systemic racism and low income housing for immigrants. As Muslims we are obligated to advocate for our fellow brothers, especially the less fortunate. Moving forward, we should raise our voices louder and commit to pushing changes for the betterment of our community, not only as Muslims, but also as Canadians. Let us take time to pray for the victims, their families, and the Bronx community and hope we do not see a tragedy like this again.
