President-Executive Message – Shawwal 1446/April 2025

الحمد لله ربّ العالمين، والصلاة والسلام على سيّدنا محمدٍ وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين.

Chers frères et sœurs,

Ramadan finished only days ago, yet Allah ﷻ immediately ushers us into another season of mercy—the sacred months that culminate in Hajj. A believer’s life is a graceful cycle of blessings: we leave one station spiritually replenished only to arrive at the next, carrying fresher faith and deeper resolve. These divine appointments are the “charging stations” for our souls, preparing us to face life’s tests, refine the best version of ourselves, and bear the torch of da’wah with conviction.

كُنتُم خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ

“You are the best community ever raised for humanity: you enjoin good and forbid evil…” — Āl-ʿImrān 3:110

Civic Awakening

I was heartened by your remarkable participation in the recent elections. It signals our community’s growing understanding that “standing on the sidelines” is not an option in a country that grants us the freedom—and responsibility—to shape the common good. Engagement, when rooted in prophetic ethics, is itself an act of worship.

Humility, Ambition, Unity—With a Divine Lens

In his victory speech, the Prime Minister highlighted humility, ambition, and unity. These resonate powerfully with Islamic teaching, but our tradition adds a critical dimension: Allah-consciousness

  • Humility (تواضع) — grounded in the awareness that tout success is from Allah. “Whoever humbles himself for Allah, He will elevate him.” — Hadith (Muslim)
  • Ambition (همة عالية) — pursued for the pleasure of Allah, not personal glory. “When you ask Allah, ask Him for Al-Firdaus—the highest Paradise.” — Hadith (Bukhārī)
  • Unity (وحدة الصف) — sustained by sincere hearts and collective taqwa. وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا — “Hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together.” (Āl-ʿImrān 3:103)

Only with this divine anchor can these values remain authentic and enduring.

MAC Convention — “Turning the Tides”

Mark your calendars: May 17 – 19. Our annual MAC Convention will gather youth and elders alike under the theme “Turning the Tides”—realigning hearts and strategies with the straight path of Allah, guided by the prophetic model. I invite every household to participate, learn, and renew its commitment to serve.

A Call to Carry the Torch

Let us greet the months of Hajj with gratitude and resolve:

  • Recharge your spirit with extra remembrance, charity, and fasting.
  • Recommit to public service—advocacy, volunteerism, and community building.
  • Reconnect with one another in humility, ambitious vision, and unshakeable unity for Allah’s sake.

May Allah accept our deeds, unite our ranks, and enable us to be agents of mercy and justice in Canada and beyond.

والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
