Hajj and Umrah Travel Health Notice

As-salamu alaykum

This year, late September marks a very important time for many, as millions of people from all around the world will be travelling by land, sea and air to perform their Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (the Agency) wants travellers to enjoy their trip and to have a safe and healthy return to Canada. The Agency has asked us to share an information sheet for travellers from Canada going to Hajj or Umrah which includes information on the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and how to reduce the risk of getting sick while travelling. The information sheet is available on our website in French, Arabic, Urdu and Turkish.

If you are attending Hajj or Umrah this year, see the Hajj and Umrah travel health notice and the  Mass gatherings fact sheet for important information related to your trip.  Please pass this information along to anyone you know who may be travelling for Hajj or Umrah.

In order to ensure the message is read by as many people as possible, Health Canada produced in various languages. Please share it with friend
